Some think that it is only the Amara people who live in Addis. It is true that the majority, about 70% are Amaras, but there are sizable number of Tigreans, Guraghes, Wolaitas ..and people of every ethnic background. This could be true for all the cities throughout the country. If the security forces are reluctant to control the situation and discharge their responsibilities, people would be forced to take the law in their hands and start to defend themselves. So far the populous have been patient and giving the benefit of the doubt to the government. However, if the government isn't willing to live up to its own rules, then the rule of the game will change without a doubt.
Jawar is a political activist and I am not sure if it is legally allowable for the government to accord security services for such individuals. How could you deny such a service for other activists if they ask for it while providing one for an activist named Jawar? The Abiy administration fattened the beast at its own watch and, now it seem the beast is vying to eat its masters.
