Addis Ababa is the only city in Ethiopia with more then one million people. The urbanisation of Ethiopia should be carried out by building larger cities than Addis Ababa. Once Ethnic Federalism is abolished as criminal and illegal, Ethiopians can go to nay city they want to live and work. Ethnic Federalism is a barrier to develop cities and economies.

Bahir Dar, Dessie, Gondar, Diredaw, Hawassa, Ambo, Mekelle, Kombolcha, Adama are few of the cities that should be developed to become larger cities. Historical cities like Aksum, Harar, Lalibella etc could also develop to become larger cities where culture and modern technology makes it more interesting to live and work in.

Focussing on Addis Ababa, to make it a megacity should be discouraged. We need to develop other cities to reduce the immigration of citizens from the rural areas
