Along with this mistake the Derg failed to take control of the Eritrean Countryside. When the strong EPLF took over Massawa Mengistu reacted by Bombing peasants instead of bombing Eritrean troops.
Also many Ethiopian Pilots were idiots they flew very close to Eritrean Missiles.
Along with that DERG Army couldn’t fight the Eritreans cause the Eritreans were on the mountian tops easily shooting Dergs troops.
The DERG Army failed terribly in Eritrea. They should have slaved all the Eritrean Rural peoples and bomb all the countrysides.
Derg should have also not bomb any civilians instead drop bombs on potential askari hideouts.
The Eritrean people braverly and fiercly won their independence from authoritarian barbaric rulers.
