Or don't you think that his blabbering of something he has not enough understanding amounted to a hate speech?

That all can be set aside but may I ask you why some of you who sometimes claim about being concerned for the wellbeing of Ethiopia just turn around and shred away your concerns when it comes to the wellbeing of the Oromo people and their concerns?

If you don't mind would you please share with us which image of Ethiopia you have in mind when you claim about being concerned for its well-being?
Defend - I will try to mumble through:

I think Tadios is well informed.

I sympathize with those who are in the periphery for feeling neglected by the Center. That Oromo Dr. on LTV who claimed Ireecha to be a religion? Is a good example. The guy looks hurt by the system. However, the central Oromo is not a bystander as some of you assume. They feel responsible for running the country as much as anybody else. Those Oromos who are upper class use Amharic language officially for business but, mostly speak Afan-Oromo in house. Lately the kids gravitated to speak Amharic as they live with others in AA. So, a revival of keeping Afan-Oromo as a language is called for; other languages need to be revived as well. Dr. Abiy's latest speech is a good idea.

Bottom line, Oromo of the center is not victim. Using/choosing written and spoken language that documented history was the right choice for them. It is like a German forgetting his native language here and using English. Trump is now the president; don't speak German. You get my drift? I know extrimist want to underestimate African Alphabet and choose European; that is another story.

Ireecha may not be a religion because it doesn't have an institution as Tadios put it but, it was celebrated in the past around Hora. Now some extremist claiming that it was suppressed by the central government is bogus; it is like assuming Afan-Oromo lack of its own alphabet was because it was suppressed by Amara. Non sense! Amharic is the only African written language; period. The old Oromo leaders used it to run the nation. HIM spoke Afan-Oromo fluently; it is documented.

Oromo was responsible for creating and defending Ethiopia of the past. Those who are part of that history can't help defending what they have created albeit drawbacks of systems can not be denied. I understand those peripherals that don't feel the same way I do because they don't understand their decedents in the center; however, Andi Tsige, Ermias Legesse, Eskinder kinds look at Ethiopia with different lenses.

Having said that, don't think for a minute such "PAN-Ethiopian" feeling is against anyone. It is like those who participated in the multi national student movement in the 60s who paid the price for all. Addis Ababans today will do the same.

Now, we can talk about Ireecha and so on. Celebrate it! Is Nice! It is good marketing & good for business as Takele said as well.

The good of Geda should be evaluated first; don't implement the system on others yet. Let us have discussions first; Prof. Asmerom is a suspect. He didn't speak Afan-Oromo to start with for one. On the other hand, Tadios don't have any reason to hate Oromo. If anything, chances are, his people are victims of Oromo Geda assimilation process as many are in the South. I don't doubt his good knowledge of Ethiopian history; he is well read. Let us not nit-pic his views; as he has no one besides himself in that forsaken stage; he is stressed for god sake! A brave man for standing up over there. Being threatened left & right; It is a crazy place; he is sweating like hell; I don't know how he does it like that at his age. Lots of respect for the man.
One Ethiopian standing!
