I can tell you easily, as a devout HIGDEF follower.
Not long ago, Eritrea was busy fighting multiple enemies on multiple fronts.
It had to divide its attention on so many things.
Now all is quite on the western front (UN, US, EU)
And all is quite on the eastern front (SA, UAE, etc).
So Eritrea does not really need to overtax its attention by unnecessarily multi-tasking when it comes to enemies
The few ones that are left can be handled one by one.
So for any Eritrean on any kind of official function to abscond now, why that will take him straight to the Eritrean Hall of Shame for ever

That is for the thousand innocent Eritreans who left to improve their life.
The high-profile ones who give comfort to ones like you are not included in this.
They don't need to rot anywhere, life in exile and life the hall of shame is enough.
