Whether we like it or not, "Eritrea" is not our ally. "Eritreans" should not be allowed to enter Ethiopia unless for humanitarian reason. Ethiopia should develop it's economy and empower it's youth. The presence of Eritreans in Ethiopia disturbs the developments in Ethiopia becuase the Eritreans do not share the same core values as Ethiopians. Eritreans were ascaris and have been fighting against Ethiopia.
The best policy for Ethiopia is to decouple Eritrea from Ethiopia. Repatriate all Eritreans from Ethiopia and keep Ethiopian youth safe from the negative influence of Eritreans, who historically have been anti-Ethiopia.

If anything, Eritrea is the only remaining "old" Ethiopia today; it didn't go to through the turmoil of "Ethnic" federation like Ethiopia.
I still have resentment on Eritrea's secession that helped ending Ethiopia in its present situation; maybe there was no other way to learn for hard headed folks like the 2 people to live in peace. That is history now.
I think Eritrea is in a position to play a good role in the peaceful settlement of our turmoil. The possibility of the horn federation/confederation shall help us look beyond our villages.

Eritrea was a colony of Italy. They have different core values than Ethiopians. There is nothing common between Eritrea and Ethiopia.
Ethiopia needs to negotiate with Italy to delimit the boundary between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Eritreans are not Ethiopians or Tigrayans. They are parasitic and ascaris still. It is better to nurture the Ethiopian as one inorder to build a strong economy. You cannot build a strong country and economy without patriotism and nationalism.
For Ethiopia, a federal government is enough. Confederation is out of the question. Ethiopia might even choose to be a unitary democratic country with some languages allowed to be working languages. I think we need a unitary structure with more democratic rights to ethnic and religious groups.
