While distinct communities once thrived here speaking the Cushitic language Kemantney, fluent native speakers have dwindled to a tiny fraction of older adults, with the vast majority now speaking only Amharic and identifying as Amhara

In former provinces like Wello and Shoa, historical Agaw populations (from whom the Qemant and related western Agaw groups descend) underwent assimilation centuries ago, fully adopting Amhara culture, language, and social fabric.
Conclusion: ባካፋ aka misraq is agaw/qemany ዲቃላ that became amharacentric due to inferiority complex!
