The only plausible reason why Wurage became accustomed to mistreatment by nearly all Southern groups, including the Gala, would be that no such unified entity realistically existed. If such an entity had truly existed, the degree of mistreatment by the Gala, Hadiya, Kembata, Sidama, and others—while not even being considered a candidate for kilil status, unlike the Harari/Adere or Gumuz - would have been intolerable.
