The U.S. Embassy in Asmara proudly celebrated the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America with friends and colleagues in attendance on May 7. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Christine Meyer delivered remarks highlighting Freedom 250 and the enduring values of freedom, democracy, partnership, and mutual respect that have guided the United States for 250 years and continue to strengthen ties between the American and Eritrean people. The celebration, which coincided with bountiful rains, brought together government officials, including Foreign Minister Osman Saleh as the Guest of Honor, members of the diplomatic community, partners, alumni, and friends of the Embassy to commemorate this historic milestone and reflect on the importance of international friendship and cooperation.

It's good that you are not against my Eritrea. But ethiopia already got access to the sea from djibouti and even kenya's lamu ports. You are confusing the difference between using ports peacefully and mutually and owning by force what's not yours. Your ethiopia wants to change geography by threatninng to take another country's legal port by using force not peacefully using it's ports like it does djibouti's port. BTW:owning port doesn't guarantee one country's economical progress. For example: Botswana and uganda and even ethiopia don't have ports but economically they are doing good, but it's the greed and tribalism and the 1% percent control the whole economy and corruption that's killing the country.
