SPECIAL REPORT ❕❕ Ethiopia Aiding Sudan RSF Militia Linked to Genocide, Yale Study Finds

UAE ally Ethiopia supplying genocidal Sudan war militia with vehicles, report claims

by Joe Glenton
9 April 2026

Ethiopia is supplying the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a genocidal UAE-backed militia, with vehicles modified for war. The Yale School of Public Health’s Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) published a new report on 8 April detailing the Ethiopian National Defence Force (ENDF) role in RSF’s shadowy supply chain

The ENDF has reportedly been supplying RSF with military-adapted vehicles for use in the war. HRL used a full suite of open source and satellite imagery in their report. Their latest briefing shows the suspect comings and goings of vehicles and vehicle-carrying trucks to an ENDF base.

HRL concluded:
with high confidence that there is activity consistent with military assistance to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) occurring at an ENDF (Ethiopia National Defense Force) base in Asosa Town in the Benishengul-Gumuz region of Ethiopia between 29 December – 29 March 2026.
RSF, whose main backer is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is currently engaged in a vicious war with the Sudanese government.

The next Ethio-Sudan war will be fought in the Benishangul-Gumuz region where the Grand Ethiopian Dam is located. This is the area the PP regime in Ethiopia chose to build an RSF terrorist training camp. Dumb idea.

It won't be long before the US government designates Ethiopia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Bloomberg:

Ethiopia Aids Sudan Militia Linked to Genocide, Yale Study Finds

Ethiopia’s military is harboring and assisting the Rapid Support Forces, a paramilitary group accused of mass killings in Sudan, a Yale University research unit has found.

The RSF has been sheltering in an Ethiopia National Defense Force camp in Asosa in the western Benishangul-Gumuz region, the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab, which tracks atrocities in conflict zones using open-source intelligence and satellite imagery, said in a report.

Exclusive: The Ethiopian army base covertly supporting Sudan’s RSF

Satellite imagery collected since December reveals a base at Asosa, connected to UAE supply lines, facilitating the Rapid Support Forces

Ethiopia is covertly supporting Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces paramilitary from an army base in the country’s Benishangul-Gumuz region, Middle East Eye can reveal.

Satellite imagery analysed by the Yale School of Public Health’s Humanitarian Research Lab and seen exclusively by MEE shows, over many months, a wide range of activity consistent with alleged military assistance to the RSF at an Ethiopian National Defence Force (ENDF) base on the outskirts of the western city of Asosa.

From December to the end of March, as the RSF conducted intense cross-border attacks on Sudanese army positions in Sudan’s Blue Nile state, car transporters rolled in and out of the Asosa base carrying technical vehicles, while tents capable of holding up to 150 fighters appeared and supplies were dispersed.

In February, 200 technical vehicles were seen at the base. Unarmed technical vehicles were retrofitted with gun mounts capable of holding heavy machine guns, while vehicles consistent with those seen at Asosa were also sighted in the midst of RSF battles in Blue Nile.

The satellite imagery seen first by MEE and published in a report by Yale’s HRL later today, alongside photos and videos posted online, connects the car transporters and other vehicles seen at Asosa with Berbera, the Somaliland city port that hosts a base run by the United Arab Emirates.

Trump administration cannot nix legal status of 5,000 Ethiopians, US judge rules

By Nate Raymond
April 8, 2026

BOSTON, April 8 (Reuters) - A federal judge on Wednesday halted a move by U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to end legal protections granted ‌to over 5,000 Ethiopians that have allowed them to live and work in the United States.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy in Boston marked the latest legal setback for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's efforts to terminate the Temporary Protected Status designation for 13 countries in furtherance of Trump's hardline immigration agenda.

One of the biggest miscalculations Ethiopia has made is to follow UAE's orders to arm, train and shelter the RSF militia destabilizing Sudan. If a war breaks out between Ethiopia and Sudan, it will be fought in the Benishangul-Gumuz region that could threaten the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

But there's no need to worry, because the international community will ask Egypt to deploy its forces to the Benishangul-Gumuz region to restore law and order. Every cloud has a silver lining.
