This article is very close to your research outcome on northern Ethiopia. But OPFist goes further in proposing to reclaim Amara's past

Dama, thanks for sharing.
I don’t think this identity is a clear thinker. He is an OLF, not a progressive Oromo. He is the Oromo version of Fando. The PP oromo are a lot more progressive I think. Because they lived and practiced politics in mix or in harmony with other unionist ethnics of Ethiopia and they have a better grasp of what unity or Ethiopia in new terms means. This person laced the facts and important points I raised for his personal objective of trying to make others think as if Ethiopia was Oromo and Agew only to begin with. Agew has been there for many centuries before the Oromo migrated northward. The abyssinian empire existed long before Oromo migrated upwards. Cush-Middle east mix people existed in Northern Ethiopia long before too, even prior to axumite empire. You know these things quite in detail as does Horus. I am not a historian or social scientist but with the help of current search and organizing technology you could produce a readable article. This guy started with some facts but mixed it with another narrative everybody is tired of . We complained about Amharanization then Tigrinization then now oromization which all are ethnic hegemony politics. Yes Amhara as some called it “fusedstock” group is not a single rooted ethnic identity but a group organized by one culture as social construct speaking Amharic, orthodox religion that decimated Agew group ( now totally spread out in different regions) and destroyed Zagwe dynasty created fairy tale solomonic dynasty to form the Abyssinian empire which later expanded to create current day Ethiopia under Amhara culture, country name and flag. So basically the Ethiopia formed late in the nineteenth century is an expansion of Abyssinian values on the larger land surface. That is their make. They used the already established Abyssinian system to run the new country Amharanizing everybody in the process including Tigrian and Oromo specially north Shia and others. When Komche says Ethiopia he is taking about this Ethiopia ጠፍጥፎ በባህሉ የቀረፃትና ስም የስጣት. I don’t think the frame work of Existence of the country is in question. The problem is not the major ethnics are agreeable to the Amharanized Ethiopia and that Ethiopia died when EPRDF took power period. I don’t think the Tigrians, Oromo, sidama, somali and many other ethnic regions are signatory to the Amharanized christian solomonic dynasty Ethiopia. Not everybody is signatory to the name, flag and culture of the Amharanized Ethiopia. Diverse multiethnic country formed by power sharing and perhaps negotiated settlement of national languages, flag, name of the country and many other things plus separation of government and religion is a right things to frame for reformed country where ethnics maintain their culture and identity but appreciate the union too than squeezing the country into a single union than administratively federated states.
The problem is ብዙ የአማራ elites of feudal origin and so called supermacists fail to grasp the status quo and want to bring back the old sheeeet through the fragmented rebel called fando🤣. That ideology unsaleable. Regions either ethnically or geographically must stay to facilitate better local governance than chained centralized governance.
