Summer in Gurage invites Q*mata beggars

Post by Dama » 12 Mar 2026, 07:20

From January to April

Wearing tattered clothes, a stick and abujedi bags, beggars flock to Gurage towns and villages. They only speak to us one phrase outside the doorsteps of every house. "sle-mariam", "sle-mariam", "sle-mariam". I did not know what they meant until I learnt Amharic in school. They keep saying this phrase until they get money. They get louder if no one answers them. Only money they take. They refuse to take dried coffee beans.

You know their history, lifestyle, religion and behavior in amazing detail
Forever parasites, beggars, DEBTERAS, deceivers and thieves. They never change
I lived with the 3 (komche, oromo and Tigre-not eritrean who are a lot human) had help from Oromo in my life when I needed help but never from Komche or its bro

I hear this story of Oromo individuals' helpfulness from many Gurages at the same situation where Amaras we grew up giving money intentionally failed to be helpfull.
Very bad beggars, indeed.

ቆማጣ ቆምጬ is a self centered ቀባሪ thief even when it owened in abundance loves to steal from others. It only sang about its heros and a country called Ethiopia it thought it owned for itself. There was one brilliant university teacher in a big university from a minority during Komche rule; Komche could not make him a professor despite his publication etc because he was not a KOMCHE. Komche felt only ቆማጣ አማራ or Tigre can be a professor. Not even an Oromo🤣🤣 It is only after ethnic regions started people started promotions in their region a promotion ቆምጬ የቀበረው!
Just mischief and deception‼️They are 🫏🫏🫏🫏
Amazing!!

So many untold stories of Gurage experiences with the q*mata beggars. We haven't scratched the surface.
Oromo and other ethnics do have their own disturbing experiences with these ungrateful beggars.
