Is it right for Ethiopia to claim whatever it desires?

The question of Ethiopia’s access to the sea has dominated public debate over the past two years. Some argue that Ethiopia must secure access “by any means,” while others insist that, although access is important, it must be achieved through negotiation and cooperation with neighboring states.

But this issue isn’t only geopolitical or economic; it’s also moral. If morality rests on the twin pillars of the right and the good, then loving Ethiopia does not automatically mean endorsing every action taken in its name. We have to ask: Is it right for Ethiopia to claim whatever it desires? And equally, is something good simply because it benefits us?

Wanting access to the sea may reflect a legitimate national interest, but desire alone does not create moral entitlement. What is “good” for Ethiopia—economic growth, strategic security, national pride—does not automatically make every method of achieving it “right.” A morally grounded approach requires respecting the rights and sovereignty of neighboring countries while pursuing Ethiopia’s own well‑being.

In other words, the real ethical challenge is not whether Ethiopia should have access to the sea, but how Ethiopia should pursue it. A nation’s moral character is shaped not only by its goals, but by the means it chooses to reach them.

__ Was not Ephrem Madebo Shabia sponsored Ginbot-7 so called Team -"Biranu Nega"?
We know some G-7 after having worked their arse off left and joined team-Shabia back; and some G-7 posted Aba-Geday beef jerky pen.is on their foreheads like Birnau Nega turned schools into military camps.

__ I would conclude this man is Shabia adulterated mole trying to deceive Ethiopians by writing in Latin to sound as if he is scholar. Everyone speaking broken English is playing Ethiopians fool - even the Pakistani YouTuber who is Huressa's regular news source - Huressa's "CNN".

__ The bottom-line, his rhetorical philosophical questing is superficial and is based on inconsistent premises. His abstraction cannot handle or address the root causes. It is not just a desire, it is a legitimate question of ownership of the Red Sea. This idiot is short selling the fundamental truth that the West and Arabs conspired against Ethiopia to landlock her by cutting out very intestinally a rat-tail like land and artificially grafted with Eritrea. Did this idiot asked why that happened? It is not a desire; it is an existential matter. I am not saying Abiy Ahmed will pursue this, I know he will not and he does not have this in deep in his heart. The heart of Shabia and OLF, just like TPLF is the same.

__ Truth has to be spoken. And that truth is Ethiopia is one of the countries that has legitimate ownership of Red Sea. No one, no leader or any future generation can skip this truth. No cheering of any country in the world against Ethiopia can stop this. It is better to find solution for Ethiopia to reclaim her ownership.

___ @sarcsam, you only selectively post stuffs that reflect the position Shabia-TPLF. That sums it all, you sound like half-Tigre and half-Eritrea, like Meles Zenawi, who had been hoodwinking and sabotaging against Ethiopia. All your posts are anti-Ethiopia. Your presence on this forum is defined by being anti-Ethiopian. Please not relate what I wrote is in support of Abiy Ahmed, but in the absolute support of the sovereign and indivisible Ethiopia, one of the Red Sea Nations.
