“A nation is great not by its size alone. It is the will, the cohesion, the stamina, the discipline of its people and the quality of their leaders which ensure it an honorable place in history.”

After British scientists reported that, Ethiopia's national IQ average of 63 is the second lowest in the world, Ethiopian government officials and media personalities keep self-reinforcing the stereotype by revealing their own ignorance and stupidity through idiotic speeches. :|

Given all of us have been living in the same neighborhood since Genesis, which wasn’t 1991, all of us have been living in the same animal kingdom in our neighborhood.

Some may be rational while others are not rational.

In my educated thinking, the first Renaissance was sparked in Europe with three words: De rerum natura.

Likewise, the second Renaissance was also sparked in Ethiopia with three words: ለካ ኣንተ ነህ!

Dusting off in Europe uncovered the Gods and Goddesses of ancient times. The rest is an unparalleled history.

It is a matter of time before dusting off in Ethiopia and east Africa at large uncovers the history of the pyramid building great Pharaohs, including that of Moses that most of you thought was an Israelite.

Therefore, it is also a matter of time before scientific thinking processes and the quest for democracy take more solid roots in our neighborhood and resign all of us to the stubborn facts of history.

Lame excuse.
Why are Eritreans fleeing their country??
They even come here in droves to mingle with the wild animals.  uninvited
Mr high IQ , come up with a plausible explanation why Eritrea is the way it is.

It's very tragic when Ethiopia's existence as nation is conditional to her hostility towards Eritrea, resulting in unnecessary zero-sum wars that have kept the country in abject poverty and backwardness for over a century, while forcing neighboring Eritrea to adopt a defensive posture safeguarding its sovereignty, also draining its meager resources.

Some argue that, in the absence of foreign aid Ethiopia would be compelled to choose coexistence over conflict, because there would be nothing to gain from going to war with her neighbors. This is a valid argument. Our past and present Ethiopian leaders have succumbed to the temptation of instant gratification they get from being an "aid darling"-- in the same way some dogs feed on their own tails trying to grow bigger-- that things in Ethiopia always stay exactly the same, if not worse. That's the dilemma we Ethiopians are facing. :x

What dilemma? Ethiopia doesn't need Eritrea and Eritreans must get used to being independent. period.

The Eritreans are pissed Ethiopians are giving them the silent treatment.

Once upon a time, the Swiss thought being a landlocked nation had no strategic significance, so they developed an inferiority complex and became a nation of mercenaries hired to fight against all their coastal neighbors. One day the French army entered Switzerland and decimated the Swiss mercenaries until they realized that taking a neutral position was their only option for survival.

It was its famed neutrality that has made landlocked Switzerland an insanely wealthy country today. Ethiopia can draw some lessons from Switzerland's success story. :P
