Your problem is Ethnic based federalism. Meles and company thought Ethnic federalism was panacea. It wasn’t. In none Ethnic based federalism, it would not have mattered where Welqait could have been located. Stop thinking along the narrow ethnic identification. Your enemy is in Addis. Head on to the south together. You can bring the 13 provinces back to life and bring peace to the people of Ethiopia. Ethnic based federalism is the culprit.

TPLF is an ethnic entity and has been ethnic for over 40 years. The product is reaching Amharas ethnic politics. Unless TPLF renounces sole ownership of Welkait, Tselemt, Tegede, Raya Alamata the issues will continue. As TPLF does not act like a political entity rather a tribal entity.

Multi ethnic areas will only find peace if an administration similar to that of Harar, Dire Dawa is formed that grants all citizens equal opportunities and status.

That is not the choice of Amhara people.

The ethnic regions were made by TPLF/EPRDF and Abiy Ahmed is a EPRDF soldier continuing EPRDF system . So the Amhara, Oromia Benishangul regions were made by TPLF-EPRDF! It's not the choice of the people !

Ethnic federalism worked under Meles and it's still working well in eastern Ethiopia and southern Ethiopia

The problems start in disputed tribal borders like Afar-Somali border which is Warzone. Amhara-Tigray border. Amhara-Oromia border ( Welega-Dera)

Abiy has refused to solve or change the regional borders so the disputes are unsolved

Ethnic federalism is divisive. It will not work. It did not even work in former Yugoslavia much less in Ethiopia. It is divisive and functions like a parasite. Ethnic federalism gave you the little Galla twerp.

Ethnic federalism is the only thing that keeps Ethiopia united Amhara gala Tigray and somali and sidamo all prefer ethnic federalism even Amhara now Amhara used to be opposes but not any more fano is fighting for Amhara not Ethiopia no one wants to go back to the mengistu and Haile sellasie era. Revisit your knowledge of the admibistrations of Harar and Dre Dawa. One of the most racist exclusionary enclaves. No equalities of citizenship there. Recheck your facts.
For an excercise of equality of citizenship where the language you speak, the tribe you belong don't matter, go nowhere other than Gurage.
I think, am not sure yet, Benishangul-Gumuz is another gem for the equality of citizenship. I am not sure, yet.
