People who hold prejudice against their own citizens are generally described as experiencing internalized racism or internalized oppression. This phenomenon occurs when people start to believe they are "better humans" than those with darker skin tones, leading them to believe anyone with a lighter skin tone than theirs is superior to them by default, thus they develop an inferiority complex that defines their true nature and identity.
