Dr. Lemma Megersa’s Ethiopian Republican Party (ERP) to Challenge Dr. Abiy’s EPP (Ethiopian Prosperity Party)?!

The time for formation of an inclusive Republican Party to challenge the incumbent EPP is approaching. Such party including all nations in Ethiopia to be lead by the future PM or President of Ethiopia, most probably Dr Lemma Megersa, is mandatory. The inclusive current movement of Jawar et al might be developing in this direction. We need such inclusive democratic ERP (Ethiopian Republican Party) to get rid of the dictatorial EPP (Ethiopia Prosperity Party of Dr. Abiy.
It seems the era of liberation fronts is coming to an end. The EPLF has already changed its name and will likely fade away with Isaias Afwerki’s eventual natural death. The TPLF is on its deathbed, having lost its legal position in Ethiopia. The new generation Tigrayan nationalists will most likely adopt a new name for their organization to reflect a new generation. The ONLF is effectively defunct, with Somalis increasingly moving in other political directions. The OLF also appears to be reaching its final stage of development.
Oromo nationalists with a bilisummà (freedom) mindset are now active across Oromia—whether in the OLA, OFC, or even OPP. I believe it’s time for them to unite into two major Oromo parties: the ruling OPP and a new opposition party—the Oromo Republican Party (ORP). Nationalists within the OLA, OFC, and OLF should come together to form a strong ORP capable of challenging the OPP in future peaceful struggles. Such ORP can develop towards ERP through including parties of other nations in order to function at federal level.
