Go with the times. This is an era of cultures and languages throughout the world. Not only in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is late in implementing the UN decolonization mandate. This began right after the UN Charter on decolonization and the right of nations to self-determination, an idea that was first introduced by President of the US Woodrow Wilson on the rights of the colonized people to their independence and the revival of cultures and languages which were suppressed by the colonizers. Such suppressions of languages and cultures of the conquered and the colonized subjects were deemed attempts at Cultural Genocide.

During that movement in late 1950s and early 1960s, it was ironic that the dimwit Dwarf Haile Sellasie felt it was the time of renaisance for Amara and imposed Amharic as a language of education throughout Ethiopia whereas the Spanish, Portuguese, English and French were clamping back on forcible use of their languages in their colonies per the UN mandates.

I would not be a member of his church.
I am Jesus’ follower from high school and never been in politics but believe in just and righteous adminstration as well us unity and nationalism. I strive not to hate people based on religion except opposing their ideology when they behave like extremist. Ethiopia has not blessed with civilized democratic adminstration. I would not mind serving in that kind of adminstration in a country I call home.
The current Ethiopian adminstration is unjust outright criminal adminstration based on favoritism and hate for Northerners and Gurage (Gurage did not get Kilil for that sole reason or Semitic ethnic mantra). Corruption and killing is widespread and many otherthings. Unfortunately the country did not get a unifying federal democratic governent without ethnic dog fighting. Ethiopian self destruction will continue untill a righteous selfless group establishes institutions accountability and citizen based democracy. I realy find how sold cadres and so called educated Ethiopians fight in ethnic line bone breaking their identity and the diverse cultures of the country they were supposed to be proud off. I hate that. There is no tolerance. When one ethnic is a victim, I don’t know why other trash people push a stick in the wound. I don’t know why educated people fear being critical thinkers and fail to be neutral in many issues or why they don’t support the disadvantaged or the one being eradicated by standing for truth. The Abiy government can’t be supported in my view:
1. One ethnic hegemony ruling with same past sceptors letting Oromos abuse by their turn. The same cycle coming again and again instead of breaking it

2. Abiy is now effectively a dictator by destroying his opposition and institutions. He is attempting to crash all oppositions including ethnic grievances and fights due to ethnic cleansing to subdue every one to his power.

3. The country including in diplomacy is in the worst situation and fragmented risking break apart

4. Countless evidences of bad governance and so on

The question is who is to clean this mess and will the next system be any better? To be seen.
I wish ethiopians were able establish civilized focused unifying conversation and hammer out their differences, what is best for their country and their regions to save the Union.
Basically yes, I am a focused christian who looks at things in both scientific and christian perspective never aligned with political group but appreciating justice and righteousness. Prosperity based on work and blessing in right way not by stealing. Respect all humans irrespective of creed, ethnicity or race. Jesus called everybody to him and those who follow him follow his demands and teachings.
As Jesus follower everybody has the duty to share his teachings, justice and righteousness with understanding the world is an imperfect place with many opposing views.
