Will Somaliland ( a Model Democratic Country) join the Arab League?
For many years, the Arab League has opposed the recognition of Somaliland, largely in support of Somalia. This position has caused frustration in Somaliland, despite its long record of peace, democratic governance, and self-rule.
Now, this could discourage Somaliland from seeking Arab League membership. Many might view the League as having ignored Somaliland’s political realities and democratic achievements. Instead, Somaliland could choose to focus on partnerships with countries and organizations that supported its recognition, while maintaining bilateral relations with individual Arab states rather than joining the Arab League itself.
