I used to think the same. No, recently USA has clearly stated that they will reduce aid to Somalia, remove military personnel and ask other like Ethiopia to take over security matters.

I truly believe that US has a new policy - separate Somalia (a problematic entity) and Somaliland (a democratic state). US/Israel will build huge base.

Ethiopia and Somaliland have already signed a lot of strategic agreements on all kinds of fields including electricity. I think as soon as UK and UAE recognize SLR, Ethiopia will follow. I think Ethiopian banks are ready to start service there yesterday there was a news about some digital system connecting financial services Somalilanders with Ethiopian banks.

melez zenawi once said that Ethiopia would be the second country to recognise Somailand that was the TPLF once but i dont think Ethiopia will be the fourth or 5th Ethiopia wants its troops in Somalia , if Ethiopia recognised Somaliland HSM will invite egypt in mogadishu and that is something the gallas wont love to see at all, and that will hapen HSM Has Ethiopia by the balls
yes i know Somaliland and ethiopia have good security ties port deals and other sort of treaties i know SL military officers go to Addis Abbaba for Military training and stuff they have allot of things. but Somalilanders tolerate Ethiopia because its a neigbour but they know deep inside the gallas will stab them in the back as they did with the mou,, i don think the US will recognise SL depsite trump hating on somalia i dont think he wil go through with it he has to accomidate egypt u know and think about them

Egyptian bluffing is empty talk. Almost 2 years ago Egypt bluffed about sending 10 000 man army. They could not send them because they could not finance it. Period. Egypt is debt ridden and broke. Egypt talks about developing this and that port. False. They don't have money to do that. The security of the Red Sea is Israel's mission. Egypt can't talk about Houthis let alone fight Houthis. So forget the coward Egyptians.
