Dr. Beyene I forgot his party but his party from the Southern allied with OFC of Prof. Merera to form HIBRET that was the other huge opposition group during Knjit days.
Beyene and Merera later on formed MEDREK with Gebru and Seye of Arena and few others.
I think POWs should not be allowed or forced to return and fight. This is immoral on many levels.

I remember seeing a short interview on Eritrean TV with the elderly peasant who captured Bezabih in the outskirts of Asmara.
Bezabih had his pistol, the old peasant a walking stick. It was funny to see the old man enacting the surrender of Bezabih, how he disarmed him, 'throw your pistol this way' ordered the man waving his stick, and Bezabih complied. 'Walk in front of me', the old man said and marched Bezabih 2-3 kms before handing him to the authorities.
