National Security Strategy of the United States of America
November 2025
E. Africa
For far too long, American policy in Africa has focused on providing, and later on spreading, liberal ideology. The United States should instead look to partner with select countries to ameliorate conflict, foster mutually beneficial trade relationships, and transition from a foreign aid paradigm to an investment and growth paradigm capable of harnessing Africa’s abundant natural resources and latent economic potential.
Opportunities for engagement could include negotiating settlements to ongoing conflicts (e.g., DRC-Rwanda, Sudan), and preventing new ones (e.g., Ethiopia Eritrea-Somalia), as well as action to amend our approach to aid and investment (e.g., the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act). And we must remain wary of resurgent Islamist terrorist activity in parts of Africa while avoiding any long-term American presence or commitments.
The United States should transition from an aid-focused relationship with Africa to a trade - and investment-focused relationship, favoring partnerships with capable, reliable states committed to opening their markets to U.S. goods and services. An
immediate area for U.S. investment in Africa, with prospects for a good return on investment, include the energy sector and critical mineral development.
Development of U.S.-backed nuclear energy, liquid petroleum gas, and liquified natural gas technologies can generate profits for U.S. businesses and help us in the competition for critical minerals and other resources.

I am always against Abiy Ahmed OLF-PP, because he is as traitor as Woyane, but your hypocrisy is through the roof. In everything, you are entirely anti-Ethiopian. You do not have the moral ground to speak or criticize about Assab and Red Sea's claim of Ethiopia. If anyone had the power to stop the utter demise of Woyane (while being praised for having 99.9% democratically elected TPLF leader by the USA), TPLF or Tigray would never be where it is now. The Red Sea and Assab issue is an intrinsic and natural matter for Ethiopia - it does not depend on Trump or any President next to him or OLF-PP Abiy Ahmed or rebel leader Isaias Afework.

No compromise or negotiation on [Eritrea's] sovereignty & TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY - AU & EU declaration that killed Abiy's ዓሰብን በቦሌ ወይም በባሌ threat!
Joint Declaration
7th African Union (AU) – European Union (EU) Summit
4. We reaffirm our strong commitment to international order based on international law and effective multilateralism grounded in international law, including the Charter of the United Nations and its Purposes and Principles, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. አቢይ ዓሰብን በባሌም በቦሌም አያገኝም
It seems Abiy has accepted that his invasion plan for Eritrea has been categorically rejected by Trump, EU and AU. Isaias has made it clear that friendly relationship between Abiy and Isaias is not possible anymore as Abiy has trampled over Eritrea's red lines and burned all the bridges. I think, realistically, the likeliest relationship between Eritrea and Ethiopia is going to be "No War No Peace"! Do you disagree? Please elaborate.

"... territorial integrity... cannot be negotiated or compromised"
But, we are hearing Ukraine is to give away good chunk of Eastern Ukraine to Russia. There are now two contradicting principles. When Crimea goes to Russia, Assab goes to Ethiopia.
As usual, hope, Woyanes will martyr themselves for Shabia; and no problem, Tigray rich in stones to erect another "Sunk cost Se' Ma'eta't Ha'wulet"
