AS NILE IS TO EGYPT, RED SEA IS TO ETHIOPIA! US MEDIATION?
The Nile is an existential necessity to Egypt. The Red Sea is an existential necessity to Ethiopia. Now, it seems that USA is trying to mediate between Egypt and Ethiopia on GERD agreement. Ethiopia has effectively linked any US mediation in the matter, with Ethiopia's existential quest for sea access- a brilliant diplomatic strategy. Moreover, Ethiopia must include Egyptian intervention in Ethiopia's internal matters as well as Eritrea's alliance with Egypt as part of this US mediated talks between Ethiopia and Egypt.
