For Ethiopians - accept the sovereignty of Eritrea once and for all. Assab was part of Eritrea from its inception by the colonial powers. It’s like Asmara. You can’t claim Assab without Asmara. There is no legal or peaceful way for Ethiopia to get Assab. The only route left is that of war which is destruction and waste of lives, resources and time. Ask yourself, if there was any legal means of getting Assab then why the government is not asking the AU/UN legally instead of barking and crying for over a year? Furthermore, the delusion that Ethiopia cannot survive without Eritrea was debunked for the last three decades. Ethiopia is a rich country if we focus and develop what we have instead of constantly salivating over what our neighbors have.

For Eritreans - as your population is very few and you are living next to a much larger bully, I suggest you better enter into a deeper economic and military relationship with Italy just like Djibouti did with France. This has the effect of deterrence! Ethiopia never entertained the idea of invading Djibouti because of the presence of France. You could do the same. This will free your young people from living in trenches to become a productive force for the economy. Otherwise, with such few population and a much larger bully, your people will never be free to focus fully on the economy. You will always need a larger chunk of your population for the military.

For Egyptians - stop your arrogance of trying to FORCE Ethiopia. Start a constructive direct dialogue and cooperation with Ethiopia. Instead of following a very negative and arrogant path, you better start to engage in a direct and constructive dialogue. Do not put your eggs in the basket hopping Ethiopia will soon be disintegrated. That is foolishness. Even if Ethiopians fight each other to death, they are all fighting to rule Ethiopia not to become independent. The next in power will not be different when it comes to issues like GERD etc. Don’t fool yourself. You are stuck in the era of colonial treaties, living in nostalgia. Wake up, it’s 2025 damn!

France is a bit more independent, a nuclear power, richer than Italy and member of the UN Security Council. One thing I would agree with you is that there is no need for war over Asseb.

Ethiopia has to do its homework well. Cut diplomatic ties with Eritrea, close the borders, deport all Eritreans from Ethiopia, designate a highly secured area for refugees and keep it that way at least for 30 years. Review the policy in 30 years.
I wouldn’t waste 1 second worrying about a dying country bleeding demographically at a catastrophic level.

Eritrea tried to lure the US, Russia,Israel and Iran to use its ports free. They both declined and are not interested at all. Italy will do the same. Why? That is a million dollars question that you have to answer. It is pretty clear why but I am not going to tell you. Use your brain.

ለ) ጣልያን የኤርትራ ክ/ሀገር የበላይ ጠባቂ እንድትሆን አቤቱታ በተመለከተ ያቀረበው አስተያየት ውጤት አልባ ነው። ይህ ጉዳይ ውሃ የማይቋጥር ወሬ ነው። በመጀመሪያ እንደ ሻዕብያ/ጀብሃ/ አቋም ኤርትራ በኢትዮጵያ ቅኝ የተያዘች አገር ናት ይላሉ። የኤርትራ ባል የመጀመሪያ የተፈታው ጣልያን ወይስ ሁለተኛ ያገባት ጥቁር ኢትዮጵያዊ/አብሻ። ደግሞስ አንድ ነጻ ወጣሁ የሚል አገር ይዞ የሚገነጠለው የነበረውን ቅርጽ ይዞ ነው ወይስ ሰርቆ ቀጥሎ? አዎ የነበረውን ይዞ እንጅ ከሌሎች መንትፎ አይደለም።

ይህ ጣልያንን ጠልፎ የማስገባት ልመና ለኢትዮጵያ እጅግ ጠቃሚ ነው። 1ኛ0 ጣልያን በእራሷ ውል ያፈረሰች ስለሆነ ኢትዮጵያ ሙሉ በሙሉ የኢድሳያስ እና የመለስ ዜናዊን ትርክት ትሽራለች። 2ኛ) ጣልያን ለኢትዮጵያ መልሸ አስረክባለሁ ብላ የገባቻቸውን ሁሉ ኢትዮጵያ ትረከባለች። ጣልያን አንዳችም መሬት በዘለቄታ የወሰደችው ወይም የተዋዋለችው የለም።

አንድ በጥብቅ ሊሰመርበት የሚገባው ነጥብ። ጣልያን ወደ ባህር ምድር እግሯ ያቀናው ኤርትራ ይዛ ለምርት እና እድገት ትጠቅመኛለች ብላ አይደለም። ጣልያን ትልቁ አላማዋ ለም እና የተፈጥሮ ሃብት ያለውን ሰፊውን የኢትዮጵያ ምድር ለመያዝ ስትል ነው። ባህር አቋርጣ የመጣችው ለኤርትራ አይደለም ለሰፊው እትዮጵያ ነው። ጣልያን እራሷ ኤርትራ አገር መሆን የማትችል መሆኑን ታውቃለች - በጣልያን ቅኝ ግዝ እያለች ኤርትራ ስም እንጅ ኢትዮጵያዊ ሁነው ነው በግብር ያለፉት።

Friends, let us be mature and think beyond our narrow, local mindsets. Let us rise above the limits we impose on ourselves and imagine a greater future.

With all due respect, Africans must wake up and stop being drawn into fighting and destroying one another. For our countries, the only way forward is not through conflict, but through building a greater vision — becoming part of something bigger.
