The term "Oromia" is a relatively recent political construct - an artificial designation imposed on regions where many non-Oromo communities are indigenous and have long-standing historical ties.

It has now been over 50 years, and instead of progress and democracy, all Ethiopians—including the Oromo people—are enduring hardship, fragmentation, and instability. Tribal federalism has failed. It must be rejected. Ethiopia’s diverse peoples are not lab rats to be experimented on in the name of "Oromummaa" or any other ethnically exclusive ideology.
