Good she is acknowledging that you can’t force people to become Tigreans just because they happen to speak Tigrigna. Eritreans too speak Tigrigna but are not part of Tigray.
She said the people of Wolkait didn’t claim to be Amharas prior to 2008. This is a little bit deceitful as it indirectly suggests that they were claiming to be Tigreans which they did not either. The truth is Wolkaits always claimed to be part of Begemdir/Gonder and never Tigray.
The cultural music of Wolkaits and Gonderes for centuries mentions and praises Wolkait as part of Gonder. The name Wolkait never was part of Tigrean cultural music and even in the last 27 years the Tigrigna songs that mention Wolkait are very rare.
With the current arrogance, bullying and oppression that TPLF is displaying towards the people of Raya Azebo and southern regions, TPLF is repeating the same mistake and is heading to lose control over these places too. It’s just a matter of time and a matter of incident. The people will rise up and chase TPLF out of their region.
