I agree with most of what you said. Pente have become a ship without a compass. However, this oromo singer did a smart move to talk about Jesus using a well known New Year music and it’s going viral (over 160k views in a day).

That looks logical as you saw it. But me being in the religion since high school, this is not acceptable by any standard but everything is copied from other countries today making the religion go astray. I would not listen this music. I would not open it for kids. Now songs are business fame etc oriented and soon it will be like the western gospel songs with their own awards and hollywood type marketing. By that time these songs will mostly become show business and no more spiritual. We won’t be able to stop the change though. The ዼንጤ church is increasingly becoming a secular show and business making religion like outside world-the likes of Nigeria and USA. That was not the case during our humble beginning. The problem with evangelicals is they are not regulated like EoC and catholic that have their own institutional control. Even for EoC, situations becoming increasingly challenging to keep its unity.

I mean discussing, debating on canons, spiritual differences when both parties are open to that is ok for me unless it becomes a war. I don’t have a belief one should steal members from other churches such as EoC. Also, I don’t believe in toxic religious exchanges among major christian sects by saying mine is superior etc. That is often not fruitful. If some one asks me to explain what I believe in or telling to people more about Jesus which is called testifying is fine beyond that it is not useful. Generally using some of Yared style songs is ok with me unless EoC strongly opposes. Afterall we all are Ethiopians and we all some how love yared style which is purely Ethiopian. I really love the EoC big drums and their beat together with the priestly dance plus those music instruments-በገና ፅናፅል even ቄሶች የሚዙት በትር. I really get blessed with those songs in protestant churches and they are purely Ethiopian. That how Ethiopians might be worshipping God in heaven too!! I wish EoC focused much on preaching Jesus and less traditions and Jewish things from old testament. Catholic church also focuses to much on rituals, culture and traditions than preaching the gospel of Jesus. Protestants have their own trouble that can not be listed here. Otherwise we all are christians as well as we believe in Jesus and come close to him. That is what matters the most.

I didn’t have to lose my patience over such a long time and start to insult anyone let alone someone I believe to have no less passion and makes no less effort for our common country even when we are on different paths.

It is now history that a while before I joined this forum, somebody I don’t know personally wrote in passant that the people have to pass through Christianity. I believe he didn’t even second guess what he wrote instead of taking it as a given.

He was a participant on a forum from which I was later banned. He who happens to have a history happens to be from the village of your buddy.

There aren’t many times that I was so shocked after reading a simple comment like that.

I wrote him back that we have irrecoverable differences and asked him to simply study what accomplishments Europe had during its Dark Age. It was for the first time that I wrote in my response to him a few words that I heard the late Nadhi Gammada say.

It is my educated view that Europe’s Dark Age and the first Renaissance are irreconcilable.

It is my educated view that East Africa’s Dark Age and the second Renaissance are irreconcilable.

While I say you are entitled to your opinion that “ዋቃ and christian God are parallel and irreconcilable,” it is my educated view that not only መለኮት and the notion of ዋቀ as well as መለኮት and the first Renaissance and the second Renaissance are reconcilable, መለኮታዊ አሰራር is ህያዉ and may be at work even in this exchange between I and you.
