Parallels and similarities between West European colonizers and Amara

Post by Dama » 19 Aug 2025, 10:49

In their response to decolonization, I made 3 groups
Group 1: Britain and France
Group 2: Portugal
Group 3: Amara

Having learnt a bitter lesson from its defeats by American independence movement in late 18th century, Britain more or less, except in Kenya, accepted native demands for a negotiated independence.

France as well accepted a negotiated independence with all its colonies except that it has to be defeated by war in Algeria to accept Algeria's independence.

Portugal, though very small in population and resources, refused negotiated indepenfence for all its colonies and was decimated by wars of indepedence in Angola, Cape Verde and Sao Tome, Mozambique, and Timor-Leste. It has never recovered from the economic, political and social devastations of the wars. Dos Santos of Angola took refuge in Spain, avoiding Portugal.

Earlier, it exactly followed the same zero sum policy against Brazil. To this date, the scar of hatred between Brazil and Portugal is a social phenomenon.

Amara, which admits it followed western Europe style of colonial expansion in the formation of Ethiopia, political advisors and weapons of conquest supplied by all the above western nations, refuses to negotiate the self-determination of nations and shrink back to Amara. Amara follows the path of Portugal, waving the slogan of "Portugal to the last blood", to win the Zero sum game of blood and bones to the last Amara standing.

I am a Gurage. Gurage Christians idolize Amara Christians. These fringe Gurage groups confess love for Amara. There is not contact between Gurage and Amara Muslims.
I travelled in the vast and fertile lands of Gojjam and Begemdir. I admire their hospitality and eagerness to help strangers but I can't endorse potentially huge losses to Amara.

The Ethiopian situation: it is within country and it is the issue of governance that should be addressed. It is not Amhara, Tigre or Oromo rule. It is power abuse, ethnic hegemony and mis-rule in the Ethiopian situation. Colonization is totally different thing. We the people of Ethiopia share DNA, look, culture and the land. The issue is how to coexist with good governance and unity. Again colonization is quite different and you can’t see that because you are idiot Taliban in christian hate. That is what that ጉደኛ book thought you. Please grow. Now Oromuma is Sodoomizing you as TPLF did to you and why don’t direct your anger to them? Because you idiot ar$e and buut washer/rubber hate christians!
