☀️ APA BREAKING NEWS ☀️ US President Trump Reverses Biden’s Negative Policy Toward Eritrea

Post by Fiyameta » 02 Aug 2025, 16:41

Trump reverses Biden’s ‘negative’ policy toward Eritrea

US President Donald Trump has announced an official change of policy towards Eritrea, introduced during the Biden administration.

To this effect the White House issued a letter to Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, on 30 July, pointing out that Trump is “reversing the negative, harmful damage of the Biden Administration around the globe”.

President Afwerki was one of the first African leaders to send a letter of congratulations when Trump won the White House in November last year, expressing readiness to work with the new administration in Washington.

US administrations of the past regarded Eritrea as Africa’s North Korea where human rights had not flourished.

Since November 2021, the Biden White House had slapped sanctions on the Eritrean government and military over their alleged involvement in the conflict in northern Ethiopia.

President Trump said his administration is poised to ”re-establish a respectful and productive national relationship between the US and Eritrea based on honesty, respect, and opportunities to improve peace and prosperity across the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea”.

Well said, brother Fiyameta, one of the psychological destroyers of the enemies of Eritrea, a country that never wishes any harm to all its neighbors! May peace reign over all our neighbors! To achieve that elusive peace, I hope the Ethiopian people get together and arrest the mentally unstable criminal ወዲበሻሻ፡ በሸሽ ድኣ ትበል 'ታ ኸብዱ'ምበር! You can do it if you get united and prioritize the dismissal of the "Ruller' who shamelessly brags of being a happy slave and would continue to remain so under foreign powers. Sad but true.

There's a possibility that President Trump may issue a formal apology for past US government policies toward Eritrea dating back to the 1950s, when the self-reliant nation was forced to become part of the most backward, aid-fed, mercenary colony called Ethiopia.

The Democrats believe Ethiopia's existence is dependent upon its destabilizing efforts in the Horn of Africa region.

The Republican party however see the Democrat's policy as counterproductive for peace and stability in the region.

Ethiopia should be given a chance to live in peace with itself and its neighbors to see whether or not it can survive without fighting mercenary wars of invasion and destruction.

It's very unfortunate that leaders of other countries have to do the thinking for us, but as a heavily indebted nation we have no other choice than to let them decide what is best for us. I, personally, think the Republican party's approach is best for our country Ethiopia.

Eritrea: Washington’s Surprising Partner in Africa’s Most Unstable Corner

While many analysts consider Ethiopia a pillar of stability, this perception is an illusion. Ethiopian unity is fragile at best, as Abiy Ahmed’s government contends with active insurgencies in the Amhara region, a tenuous peace in Tigray, and a lack of legitimacy within his own Oromo ethnic group. Ethnic divisions undermine Ethiopia’s cohesion, making its stability precarious.

The Trump administration stands at a pivotal crossroads, with a rare chance to reshape the Horn of Africa by moving beyond the idealistic foreign policies of previous administrations and adopting a pragmatic approach that aligns with the region’s complex realities while advancing American interests in a volatile geopolitical landscape.

By forging a pragmatic economic, political, and military partnership with Eritrea, a country that stands as a pillar of stability in one of the world’s most volatile regions, the Horn of Africa, the United States could position Eritrea as a crucial strategic asset in enhancing regional security. Asmara has the potential to serve as a catalyst for stability, playing a pivotal role in the Sudanese civil war, countering piracy along the Red Sea, supporting Somalia in eradicating non-state actors, and ensuring secure shipping routes for international commerce. More importantly, Eritrea could help curb Iranian influence in Yemen and degrade the Houthis by providing critical real estate along the Red Sea.

The United States must confront the region’s complex realities to reinforce stability in the Horn of Africa. Sudan has been mired in a bloody civil war since 2023; Ethiopia’s perceived unity masks fragile ethnic tensions rooted in historical animosity; Somalia remains a failed state and a haven for non-state actors; Djibouti operates as a one-man dictatorship and a hub for foreign military bases; and Eritrea, a carbon copy of Enver Hoxha’s Albania, stands as a pillar of stability with its robust military, highly centralized governance, and one-party rule.

Compounding East Africa’s fragility is the escalating anarchy in Yemen, with Houthi forces destabilizing global trade through Red Sea attacks, targeting U.S. warships, and deploying surface-to-surface missiles toward Israel, further exacerbating regional volatility. The Trump administration faces a critical decision: to either relinquish its influence in East Africa to global competitors like China, Russia, and emerging power brokers such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and India or to counter these actors assertively.

To offset Chinese expansion and Russian influence, the United States should pursue a comprehensive engagement strategy with Eritrea, cultivating a strategic partnership that transcends transient leadership. If Washington capitalizes on this opportunity, establishing a U.S. military presence in Assab, Massawa, or Tio could become a reality along the Red Sea. Such a move would position Asmara as a future ally and a critical strategic partner for the United States in one of the world’s most volatile regions.

A military base along the Eritrean coastline would provide Washington with strategic options in the Horn of Africa, addressing both geoeconomic and geopolitical challenges with significant implications for international commerce and security.

Meanwhile.... Ethiopians continue to seek allies in their fight against Abiy Ahmed's regime to free their country from the yoke and bondage of Emirates' colonization. Good luck!

Somalia remains a failed state and a haven for non-state actors; Djibouti operates as a one-man dictatorship and a hub for foreign military bases; and Eritrea, a carbon copy of Enver Hoxha’s Albania, stands as a pillar of stability with its robust military, highly centralized governance, and one-party rule.

Not only are Eritreans jealous, but they are also suffering from inferiority complex, they want to promote and elevate their desolate country by belittling Somalia and other neighboring countries, they are always busy trying to make Somalia look bad place while making Eritrea look good, Even though Eritrea is one hundred percent a failed state and is among the most heavily indebted countries in the world, According to the World Bank, Eritrea's debt stands at 201.36 percent of its GDP in 2025. This is very high.

I have noticed it is becoming a trend for Eritreans to promote and elevate their country by belittling Somalia.

Djibouti’s Overcrowded Military Presence: Djibouti’s strategic real estate is already saturated with foreign military bases, hosting Italian, Japanese, French, and Chinese forces. Establishing a U.S. military presence in Eritrea would counterbalance China’s growing influence and expand Washington’s operational reach.
Chinese Influence in Djibouti: If Djibouti succumbs to China’s debt-trap diplomacy, Beijing’s economic and political leverage could severely constrain Washington’s freedom of movement in the region.
A military base along the Eritrean coastline would provide Washington with strategic options in the Horn of Africa, addressing both
geoeconomic and geopolitical challenges with significant implications for international commerce and security.
the United States should pursue a comprehensive engagement strategy with Eritrea, cultivating a strategic partnership that transcends transient leadership.

Eritrea stands out as an anomaly.

Eritrea is also the Horn’s most stable nation.

The United States should not shy away from exploring a strategic partnership with Eritrea.

By forging a pragmatic economic, political, and military partnership with Eritrea, a country that stands as a pillar of stability in one of the world’s most volatile regions, the Horn of Africa, the United States could position Eritrea as a crucial strategic asset in enhancing regional security.

Daniel Haile is a moron low IQ Eritrean.

Eritrea, which is around the same size as beautiful Ohio state sits in a geostrategic location but that doesn’t mean it is strategically and economically important for the United States, Besides, the United States says it has no vital security interest in the Red Sea, Only 2% of U.S. trade passes through the Red Sea.

The US administration is just trying to send deportees and dangerous criminals to Eritrea, that is all, Most African countries have refused to accept deported migrants from the U.S.A.

In 1991, Eritrea spared Ethiopia from imminent disintegration by forming a coalition of loosely organized Ethiopian rebel groups crucial for ensuring a smooth transition and continuation as a nation.

In late 2021, when TPLF forces were advancing towards Addis Ababa with the aim of dissolving Ethiopia into several independent states, Eritrea once again played a major role in neutralizing the threat facing Ethiopia.

Now the question becomes, how long do you keep saving a country from itself before you start experiencing fatigue at some point? :|
