If you are a US or Canadian citizen and you want to retire in Ethiopia by expatriating your monthly pension amount, US or Canada will deduct 25% from your pension. This is a lot to take from a pensioner. For such an obvious reason, many Ethiopians avoided retiring in Ethiopia because Ethiopia does not have bilateral tax agreement with their country of tax-residency. This has discouraged many diaspira Ethiopians from retiring in Ethiopia, among other reasons such as absence of peace.
Today, I called the Ethiopian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, and asked them to consider signing a tax agreement with Canada as did many African countries and the Caribbeans.
Point well-considered, I was told that they will relay my suggestion to departments in charge of bilateral relations.
Whorus live to bring +ve changes to Ethiopians or else...

I laughed at you!
Ethiopian embassies in the west are mostly preoccupied with personal business, nepotism, migrant smuggling and many other things. Getting a simple visa or renewing visa through them is a painful experience. Most are political appointees with minimal education and experience. You cannot reason out with them. Even Horus the Pinocchio knows that well.

Ethiopia of tyrants and despots do not deserve me. When, I was talking to the person, I almost said, "If you were Whorus Hodus, I want to end the call." I hate the sellout that much.

“Do not deserve me”….Yes, that is what I thought too!
They don’t deserve us! In the old days we used to say 12+ጭጭ if you finish high school and did not pass for college. Many of them are kind of 12+ጭጭ in office for የዘር ኮታ the likes of ሌንጮ ባቲ et al. They don’t deserve to listen from people like some four stars the likes of you!

That is why Getachew bolodia a renowned biochemist from Harar probably Oromo descent when he was asked at airport if he will stay in foreign land where he goes or comeback, he jokingly answered he will not leave his country to a soldier/militai but he will be back. That was at the time of Mengistu. The situation of the country even became worse now. Well educated people are hated but 12+ጭጭ could get a PhD from degree mills and can become a Dr easily. There was this thing said by a ተጋዳላይ. You know they also hated and chased out educated people to green pastures! In a hospital the ተጋዳላይ was misbehaving when a guy with a white coat appeared. The ተጋዳላይ was angry the so called person got a doctor introduction. When he was told a doctor is a highly trained person and deserves a respect, the ተጋዳላይ argued any body could be a doctor if ስፊው ህዝብ ከመረጠው. This was another quip from TPLF era.
That is the state of affairs. Now the most important factor for someone to assume a position is based on ethnic representation, not by competence. One person who was a doctor was bitter when a position was given to another doctor from so called minority ethnic because of his competence. The one who was bitter argued he deserved the position because he hails from the largest Ethnic, Oromo. That is what has been happening in the country for almost 40 years. Under the nose of Berhanu Nega 5 or more PhDs were awarded to candidates because it was for Oromos. He said nothing. Either your ethnics should be big or be a cadre even to earn a scholarship among others. This is the situation the Sodo slave called horus tries not only defend but shove in the throats of many firumers by force by claiming he supports Ethiopia.

He doessn't give a fck about Ethiopia. He is a shameless liar. He only cares the handouts being doled out to his small enclave on the eastern edge of Gurage.
