No you are wrong Affable, Being a nationalist doesn't mean forget where you come from or to stand up against oppressors. I believe that either galla-abiy silenced him with fear or money or teddy afro is galla half breed

Teddy Afro was a good singer and patriot during the TPLF era. His support base was Amharas and Ethiopianists. When Ethiopianism is strangled to death by Oromuma & Tigrianism, Amharas have no option left but promote their Amharanism. With that, Teddy Afro lost a huge chunk of his support base

With Amharas increasingly become Amhara nationalists, the removed Teddy's ፍቅር ያሸንፋል ideology because that ideology made them incapable of organizing and resist oppression and genocide.

Teddy also made a blunder on his music when he mentioned Oromo, Tigre, Gurage and afar but refused to mention Amhara. Instead, he passed calling Gojjam, Tegulet, Gonder and Wollo. This toxic verse made him a suspect of Ginbot-7 sympathizer and ideology promoter. The way he mentioned Tegulet instead of Shoa goes in line with Oromuma narrative and the way he divided Amharas into provincial names made him a suspect of Ginbot-7. This is not an innocent mistake in this polarized and ethnicized generation. May be he underestimateed Amharas and theyr new Nationalism.

With the coming of singers like Dagne Walle who sang for both Amhara and Ethiopia repeatedly breaking the box office, Teddy Afro further drifted to irrelevancy.

I appreciate his strong confidence commitment during TPLF era, but this time, I see him as a suspect and not a good one for Amhara. He is by the way a mix of Gurage, Oromo and Amhara.
