🔥 ABIY AHMED'S GOVERNMENT IS BROKE

ADDIS ABABA — As inflation continues to soar and the Ethiopian birr loses value, the federal government is reportedly preparing to introduce a new wave of taxes, raising concerns among citizens already struggling with the high cost of living.

The move, led by PM Abiy Ahmed's «Prosperity-In-Your-Dreams-Party» comes at a time when many Ethiopians say they are barely managing to meet basic needs. Critics argue that the proposed taxes risk worsening already difficult economic conditions and further burdening the population.

While officials frame the new measures as part of broader fiscal reforms, public frustration is growing, with some accusing the government of deepening economic hardship rather than providing relief.

Well done, wedi Beshasha! https://birrmetrics.com/ethiopia-to-imp ... ation-tax/

ABIY AHMED'S GOVERNMENT IS BROKE (Part -II)

ADDIS ABABA ― In yet another sign of economic desperation, the Abiy Ahmed administration has issued a new public notice requiring all residents who own a television to pay an annual fee of 120 birr since the day they purchase the TV.

The directive instructs TV owners to register their devices at designated locations, as outlined in the public notices.

Those who have owned a television for several years are being told to pay a lump sum of 800 birr in arrears for the years until 2025, before they are legally allowed to continue using their TV sets.

WTF!

Failure to comply will be considered as a criminal offense, under Proclamation No. 1278/2015, Section 18, Subsections 2 and 4, with penalties to be imposed on anyone caught using an unregistered television for "anything".

Yes, you read that right. 🤣

The move, widely criticized by citizens and observers alike, as yet another money grab policy under the ruling party’s increasingly sarcastically nicknamed “Prosperity-in-your-dreams” agenda.

Many view this and recent tax hike policies, as further evidence of the administration’s economic mismanagement and detachment from the daily hardships facing ordinary Ethiopians.

As the cost of living continues to soar and the birr weakens, the government’s growing reliance on punitive taxation is fueling public frustration and ridicule.

ከበለፀጉ አይቀር እንዲህ ነው እንጂ ... Well done Wedi Beshasha ... 🥹

The manufactured outrage by the Prosperity Party (PP) over President Isaias's remarks on 'Oromumma' has been thoroughly exposed by the respected Oromo/Ethiopian scholar, Professor Ezekiel Gebissa.

Professor Gebissa makes it unequivocally clear: President Isaias said nothing new—his statements are consistent with what he has expressed for the past seven years. More importantly, he emphasizes that PP's 'Oromumma' ideology does not truly represent the Oromo people. On the contrary, it is harming the Oromo communities, isolating them and fueling animosity from other groups, particularly the Amhara and Tigrayans.

He also exposes PP’s escalating warmongering rhetoric and its dangerous push to ignite a new conflict with Eritrea.
