Why is UAE Partnering with Abiy Ahmad's Ethiopia?

Post by Odie » 17 May 2025, 18:18

Everything done in Ethiopia is inspired by Abiy Ahmad's UAE (apparently, as you know, he is adopted there per previous news)
Ethiopia never in history has been influenced by an Arab country like what is happening now. Of course, not for good. In all Ethiopian civil wars including in Tigray ana Amhara, all the war equipment including drones are funded by UAE. As you know Ethiopians have bad scar from Arabs and their relates in history (Ottomans, Ahmad gragn, Mahdists...)

This time UAE in the name of partnership rap ing the whole country and citizens.
You know Arabs historically have been migrant workers in Ethiopia and some used to live in AGARO-the birth place of Abiy Ahmad (not sure if they fathered him  )

UAE and Ethiopian marriage/relationship

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has developed a multifaceted partnership with Ethiopia under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, driven by a combination of economic, geopolitical, and security interests.
Economic Collaboration
Since Abiy Ahmed's ascent to power in 2018, the UAE has significantly increased its economic engagement with Ethiopia. Shortly after Abiy took office, the UAE pledged $3 billion in aid and investment to support Ethiopia's economic reforms and alleviate foreign currency shortages. This package included a $1 billion deposit in Ethiopia's central bank and $2 billion directed towards sectors like tourism, renewable energy, and agriculture (remember him boasting about money for palace which he said is not required to tell where he got it? Well, money does not grow on trees  ).
Ethiopia's large population and strategic location make it an attractive market for Emirati exports. In 2023, the UAE became Ethiopia's fourth-largest export destination (not sure what they export to Ethiopia? Drones?). Emirati investments in Ethiopia have reached $2.9 billion, focusing on industries such as food and beverages, agriculture, logistics, chemicals, aluminum, pharmaceuticals, and real estate. (Who-resee's corridor is for UAE investors, not for Ethiopians  )

Geopolitical and Security Interests
The UAE's involvement in Ethiopia is also motivated by geopolitical and security considerations. Both nations have collaborated to enhance port access in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean regions (there you are? That is why Who resee is dancing), aiming to bolster economic and security interests. For instance, they have worked together to expand the Berbera Port corridor in Somaliland .
Ethiopia's landlocked status has intensified its pursuit of maritime access. In January 2024, Ethiopia signed a memorandum of understanding with Somaliland to lease over 19 kilometers of coastline for 50 years, facilitating naval access. This agreement also included a provision for Ethiopia to potentially recognize Somaliland's independence, a move that has stirred regional tensions, particularly with Somalia .

Military and Security Cooperation
The UAE has been a crucial security partner for Ethiopia, providing military assistance during internal conflicts (to kill Ethiopians). Reports indicate that the UAE supplied weaponized drones to the Ethiopian government, which played a significant role in altering the dynamics of the Tigray conflict .

Regional Influence and Strategic Positioning
The UAE's engagement with Ethiopia is part of its broader strategy to extend influence across the Horn of Africa (neo colonization). By establishing strong ties with Ethiopia, the UAE aims to secure its interests in the Red Sea corridor, counter rival influences, and position itself as a key player in regional stability and economic development (so the Sea access is not for Oromuma irecha it is for UAE muscle flexion; ENDF is letting its blood for the band and its Arab masters  ) .

Good luck for Ethiopia a colony of UAE. Arabs used to be migrant workers historically. Now we sell them from goat to house maids. Thanks to Oromuma. They are completing what Jimma Aba-jufar was doing. Slave trading!
