It is hard to explain why but so far andargachew seems to like what Isayas likes and hates what Isayas hates. the man was in good term with weyane until thy fall out with shabia around 1997 and also his opposition to Abiy began just after the friction between abiy and issu.

Whether Andargachew always dances to the tune of the current popular music or not shouldn’t be an issue. Yes, he might have turned his politics constantly for no reason. But that should not be necessarily the overriding issue.
I rather worry about the old politicians who have chosen not to give it up. It is a different time. They don’t understand the new generation, and the new generation doesn’t understand them either.
Politics changes with time. A few if any politicians have the ability to recalibrate their politics so that it tunes with the current time.
In Ethiopia and in our northern neighbor the oldies have turned out to be the most ችኮ politicians on earth. They seem to assume no one knows politics but them. No one cares about the countries in question but them. I like the then vice president aspirant Gore’s slogan: it is time for them to go.
Yes, retirement includes politics as well.

Would you care to elaborate which points of the book she's misunderstanding so we can learn from your observation. A lot is said in this interview and we're only highlighting the crucial ones. A sweeping statement you made makes it look like everything in the book is misunderstood.

Retelling the stories his grandfather had told him about Finfine. She pushed Andy to accept that he supported OLF narrative that he said the now renamed Addis belonged to Oromo as a property. She also insinuated that he dared say that Finfine and surrounding areas were no ones' property.

Andy's retelling of his grandfathers memory is in the sense of the lanscape changes that have taken place from his childhood days. What would be wrong, if a grandfather tells his young grandchild, "Daughter or Son, you see that tall building? That tall AU building, back in my days when I was your age, it was an empty field where our cattle used to graze". A very innocent, apolitical family talk

And simply retold a story his grandfather told him that:
1. Finfine and its surroundings were cattle grazing lands
2. The fact that this place was empty grassland on which cattle grazed, of trees, of rivers and creeks and spring waters, not farmed and had no houses, Andy or his grandfather did not mean the land was not utilized by villagers

Are you saying Fano picked up arms to protect Amharic from extinction? What's the point of building alliance with someone who denies your very existence? he is positioning himself to be top dog as he did with Ginbot 7, to become head of something when the time comes. I didn’t hear the individual say he is the leader or indicating that he will be the leader of the movement! However, he is fighting a common enemy and taking a stand when he knew that the system is working against his interests. Building alliances and handing over leadership positions are completely different. Most of those who are now leaders of the movement at one point or another had worked with our current butchers. Are you saying that anyone who at one point had a position contrary to what is yours can’t be allowed to correct his stance and be an ally for perpetuity? If so, we are not talking about politics!

With all due respect, Andargachew Tsige Tufa is not an unknown entity. Someone who has been on the Ethiopian political scene for a long time, always changing positions to grab a higher post. He left EPRA and stayed with TPLF to become the first rep of it in Europe. He returned to Ethiopia when TPLF got to Addis, left it because they didn't give him a political position he felt he deserved based on his service.

We remember very well such way of thinking sinking the struggle of Kinijit by the likes of him and Berhanu Nega then forming Ginbot 7, using that killing the Kefagn group etc. You be you and continue on your "smat" path. BTW, there is no Amhara camp if there is no Amhara. But again who knows what your end goal is.
