Trump's Dumb Tariff War

Post by Somaliman » 04 Apr 2025, 20:26

Elon Musk, whose DOGE's cuts have led to more than 280,000 layoffs of federal workers and contractors across 27 agencies, saw around $11 billion shaved off his wealth in the stock market bloodbath that followed Trump's dumb tariff war, taking his overall losses since the beginning of 2025 to more than $110 billion!

Bezos loses $15.9 billion from his personal wealth!

And Zuckerberg loses $17.9 billion, topping the list of the biggest losers by dollars, as his damn Meta shares took a hit in the sell-off.

I am totally disappointed by your understanding of basic economy.

Trump broke the world order as you know it...As a Muslim, you should embrace Donal J trump as your own...The man who destroyed the understanding of LGTBTQ non sense, [deleted] pride. The man who broke the bone of USAID, the man who broke the democrats despite they have the apparatus of the government and the media. I think you are just mad because he threatened to deport Illhan Omar to Somalia , the congress woman from Minnesota. If she stopped bitching about Palestinian issues and instead concentrate on Somali related issues, she would have been the voice of many.

Trump is a legend and history will remember him as such.

Even Elon Musk has split with Donald Trump on dumb tariffs, distancing himself from the fascist's stupidity.

He has told a political rally that he hopes to see a 'zero tariff situation' between the US and Europe to create a free trade zone, which contradicts Trump's foolish tariff war.
Earlier Saturday, Elon Musk appeared to distance himself even further from the tariffs plan as he ripped a top Trump trade advisor in an extraordinary outburst on X.

My take it is the working poor who might face hardship as a result of the tariffs. The billionaires they will be ok. In fact, at the end they will have more money than they have now. When the economy is bad there are many who sell what they have at the lowest price. Who has the money to the buy them ? The billionaires. When the economy starts doing ok again, well, one pays a lot to the goods that was sold cheap.
There are some who say this tariff thing is conceived to let the billionaires have more money. Well, I don’t go that far.

Of course, it's always the struggling and the poor who get hit hardest. The billionaires will always recover and keep getting richer.

Last weekend, it was claimed that fascist racist Trump was considering a 90-day pause on his dumb tariff war. But, on Monday, the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told CNN that reports citing such a claim were “fake news.”

And today, he announces 90-day pause on tariffs except for China, which is not backing down on his stupid tariffs.

Welcome to Trump's trash administration!

China announced new tariffs of 84% on imports of all US goods.
The EU announced 25% tariffs on a range of US imports in a first round of countermeasures. The 27-member bloc has agreed to impose retaliatory tariffs on €21bn (£18bn) of US goods, targeting farm produce and products from Republican states.

Guys,

President Trump has taken a big gamble. This gamble will take decades to show positive results if any. In the short run, it will create nothing but chaos and havoc to the financial markets.Even little Lesotho got slapped with wammy 50% tariff. This land locked tiny State in the womb of South Africa will perhaps disappear for good. Financial markets are extremely sensitive. It is a tremendous gamble. People like Elon Musk should have known that. They say, it is not rocket science. You can take a risk if it involves only short term implication.

Trump's dumb tariff on China is now set at 145%.

As China says that Trump’s dumb trade war with Beijing will end in failure for Washington, Trump panics and starts to appease China, by saying:
I've great respect for Chinese president Xi Jinping, he has been a friend of mine for a long period of time.

Trump insists his dumb tariff war is doing really well, while recession fears are mounting and US government bonds – typically seen as one of the world’s safest financial assets – continue to be sold off and are on course for their biggest weekly loss since 2019, and the dollar also is falling against a basket of currencies, and is as we speak down against the euro and the pound!
