OFC, OLA, OLF and OPP to Agree on Fostering Oropia (Oromummà Led Ethiopia)!
All of us are eagerly waiting for the outcome of the negotiation going on between OFC, OLA, OLF and OPP. I think it is already over due that nowadays almost all genuine Oromo nationalists agree on fostering Oropia (Oromummà led Ethiopia), be it with or without Oromia. It is already clear that henceforth Ethiopia will be legitimately under the leadership of Oromummà. The ongoing cry of Amara elites can not change the game. It seems that Dr. Abiy is coming to his sense and he is back to his Oromo constituency. His attempt of trying to appease the Neo-Naftagnas already back fired. The cvnning Amara elites tried to use him just as they did to Mengistu H/Mariam. To some extent, they were successful. They used him to crack down on both Oromo and Tegrau nationalists. Lastly, they also targeted Dr. Abiy himself and his Oromo prosperity leadership. Thus, now they already are in conflict with him and with all his Oromo supporters. Their current attack of him and the whole Oromo nation is the worst miscalculation they did. The consequence will be bad for them. At the end of the day, they shall lose and the Oromo will get our legitimate leadership of the whole country, of course by achieving also equality of all nations and nationalities in the rainbow Oropia. The future Oropia will be democratic, possibly adopting a modernized Gadà system, in which all cultures and languages of the country can have their proportional share (Afàn Oromô 40%, Agawigna 20%, Amarigna 10%, Af Somàl 6%, Tigrigna 5%, Sidamu Afô 4%, Guragigna 3%, Qafàr Af 2%, Wolayitigna 1%…etc).

Re: OFC, OLA, OLF and OPP to Agree on Fostering Oropia (Oromummà Led Ethiopia)!
Looking back to the past, in the end of July 2009 was the week of Oromo meetings or events in Atlanta, Georgia: sports, political, cultural, religious, social meetings and even dating of Oromo gals and guys do happen during this time. Let me concentrate on the political meetings and give my short opinion on how fruitful the festival was. No question that the Oromo goal – self-determination – is almost accepted by all Oromo political organizations in the walk of life. Some non-Oromo politicians try to create the “third way” like that of renegade “opposition leader”, Mr. Lidetu Ayalew. These non-Oromos are neither for an independent Oromia nor for an integrative Oropia, but they do advocate for all Oromo people to be Ethiopians in a Sense of Amapians and live as such without demanding any sort of autonomy for Oromo region. Even some Oromo politicians seem to tell us that we are on a crossroad to choose between two goals: an independent Oromia (600,000sqKm) or an integrative Oropia (1,130,000 sqKm).
I just saw a picture on Gadaa website with a question originally raised by Burqaa (Oromo magazine): Eessa deemaa jirraa (where are we going)? The question suggests as if we are standing at a crossroad on the place showing us the two directions to two different goals between which we have to choose: either to move on the way to establishing an independent Oromia or to move on the way to foster Oropia as our country and democratize it. I personally do differ from such suggestion of Gadaa.com and from the opinion, which is probably that of Burqaa magazine.
I do believe that the Oromo as a nation has never been on a crossroad to decide on two different goals, but we used to be at the crossroad to decide on the way to move to the only one objective we do have, i.e to self-determination. For our nation, the goal is clear: a sovereign and free Oromia and/or Oropia! Oromia can choose to live within a union with other neighboring nations or to go without the union per referendum. But there are certain rhetoric like autonomous Oromia in a united Ethiopia entertained by some genuine Oromo in OFC and even by some part of the OLF leadership, which is a mere tactical move, but it has never been an attempt to give up the only one goal of the Oromo as a Nation. The Oromo in OPP do their rhetoric just not to be in conflict with the Habeshas they are working together and with whom they do not want a confrontation; the Oromo in OFC do the same not to lose the “legal” status as an opposition; and, of course, some OLF leadership do it to appease and do business with the international community, which is interested more in a united Ethiopia than in a disintegrated country – just for the sake of their (e.g USA’s) own interest.
But sure is that our spiritual organization (dhaaba Oromo) – the OLF, which is the mindset we all freedom-loving Oromo do have, is moving in three levels to realize our emancipation. To put it clearly in short, I think this liberation spirit moves now:
– at level of the governing party, OPP: to keep the status quo of a limited cultural autonomy we have already achieved, i.e. to hinder the backward move of our liberation journey to the status we were in till 1991, the time when there was no Oromia as a state, the time when we had no right to use Afaan Oromo in Oromia and we even lacked limited cultural right.
– at level of OFC, the opposition movement which tries to achieve genuine autonomy for Oromia in a federal union, of course Oromia as national state being liberated from any Alien ruling. This status of genuinely autonomous Oromia in a genuinely federal union is a half way move to our goal of an independent Oromia, if we want. As far as I am concerned, Oropia as a union is more beneficial for the Oromo!
– at level of OLF proper, which is determined to lead us to our national self-determination, be it per ballot or per bullet. We then will be in a position to decide on Oromia vs Oropia, of course no one with sound mind will choose the smaller.
This well coordinated move of the OLF-spirit is in deed very scary to our current enemy. It is fact that genuine Oromo in OPP and OFC are led by the OLF-mindset. Genuine OPP-Oromo talk explicitly that the Oromo are already liberated, but implicitly they work for true liberation. OFC-Oromo talk about unity of the country overtly, but they do work for freedom of Oromia within Oropia covertly. How can Habesha elites deal with this? Kill all the Oromo in a walk of life? Really very puzzling for our arch enemies!
For the Oromo as a nation, the objective (Kaayyo) is clear, and it is almost the same to the Waaqa (God) we do believe in. The only area where factions of Oromo political groups do differ is on the way to the objective – self determination after liberating Caffee Araara. For some, it should be the move from Djibouti (colony) with some stops in Diredhawa and Adaama to Finfinne (freedom), i.e. an evolutionary move. For others, who just want to fly from Djibouti directly and quickly to Finfinne, in short, it is a krevolutionary move. But the reality in life is showing the second group, that slow move by train with stops in Diredhawa (status quo) and Adaama (genuine ethnic federation) is mandatory and will be the most probable route we, all the Oromo, take together in our liberation journey, i.e. the evolution way rather than the revolution way. In short, we do have only one objective and we do believe in only one Waaqa (Kaayyo).
The difference we do have is only on the route to the goal and on the speed of our move in the way we choose as well as on the three types of post-freedom sovereignty: an independent Oromia, federal Union (Oromia in Oropia) and an intergative Oropia (geography based federation of Oropia). So the question to be raised by Gadaa.com as well by Burqaa magazine should have been the question of the way to our goal: karaa eessaan gara kaayyootti demaa jirraa (on which route are we moving to the goal) or the question of the speed: Eessan dafnee kaayyoo keenyatti fiiguu dandeenya (which way can we move faster to the goal) or about the type of sovereignty we can choose after freedom (Oromia and/or Oropia)? These questions are also which would have to be asked by the Oromo during their meetings in Atlanta, Georgia. The same question is to be raised during the negotiation between OLA of Gn. Marro and OPP of Dr. Abiy. In short, the Oromo are moving from the status quo to our common goal (Caffee Araara = bilisummaa/freedom) on three routes (rebel path of the OLA, opposition route of the OFC and regime way of the OPP); so we are not now standing on cross road. After liberating Caffee Araara, our people can choose one of the three possible sovereignty: an independent Oromia of Ob. Galaasa Dilbo, a federal Union of Dr. Leenco Lataa or an integrativ Oropia of Dr. Haile Fida. I personally suggest that the Oromo take our legitimate leadership in the future democratic Rainbow Oropia and this shall hopefully will be the outcome of the negotiation between OLA and OPP, which we are eagerly waiting.
