It’s actually impossible for a human or even an animal to live without a goal. We all make resolutions and aims to fulfill for survival and a decent life if possible. But society only knows about one kind of goal and that’s about achieving something materialistic that apparently seems to be a success standard. But is it?
BTW Do you know corruption is rife in Addis ababa corridor development project?
The beneficiaries are Gallas and faceless bureaucrats at every level of Abiy's admin.

This is not bashing the poor. These are timeless principles. Also, poverty does not mean only a lack of material resources such as food, clothing and housing. There is poverty of intellect, morality, character, conscience and common sense. Goal is an intentional behavior. Evolution does not have a goal. Natural animal drive and instinct are not intentional goals. They are animal behaviors, not intentional behavior.
My comment is about people, not cows or trees. Humans are capable of forming intentional purpose, goals and goal-driven behaviors. If a poor person has goals and works on his goals, he is not poor. Go to merkato. There are 1000s of people who have nothing by the way of money but they get up in the morning go to the market to do anything available. Those are not poor people; they just are not rich yet. Those people have goals and work every day. Ditto.
The are others. They neither have goals, nor work to do anything. Those are really, really poor and lazy folks I am talking about.
Forget about talking corruption. Everybody is corrupt. Human are corrupt. I am interested in what good people can do. We all know how bad people are. You and I are not any better judges. አይን የራሱን ጉድፍ አያይምና! አበቃሁ! አዲስ አበባ ታብብ! ኢትዮጵያ ለዘላለም ትኑር!
