Why the Oromuma ethno-fascists and TPLF want renowned ADWA victory day reduced

Post by Odie » 03 Mar 2025, 12:41

Adwa as a National and African Symbol: For much of Ethiopia's history, the Battle of Adwa has been celebrated as a key moment of national and African pride and resistance against European colonization. This nationalist narrative, which emphasized Ethiopian unity, makes feel the Oromo ethno-fascists and Tigre ethnonationalist reduced because the big names that show up during Adwa celebration are non-Oromo. For Oromo ethno-nationalists and Tigre ethnic radicals, the celebration of Adwa by the Ethiopian state is often seen as a way of reinforcing a unity which they hate.
