1. Oromo Hegemony/ Superiority: Perceived dominance of the Oromo ethnic group in political and economic spheres under Abiy's leadership, leading to resentment and feelings of marginalization among other ethnic groups.
2. Ethnic Tensions and Violence: Clashes between various ethnic groups, such as the Amhara, Somali, Sidama, Tigre, village extermination in Sodo region of Gurage, often over land grab, snatching resources, and political power.
3. Human Rights Abuses: Government crackdowns on opposition, activists, and journalists, with accusations of political repression. Both Gurage, Amhara and other Ethnic feared oppositions rot in prison and denied justice.
4. Displacement: Millions displaced due to ethnic conflicts and violence, straining resources and living conditions. The infamous "corridor development" destroyed the livelihood and identity of the poor tantamount to gentrification and urbicide some committing suicide due to wanton destruction of their lives.
5. Political Repression: Arrests and silencing of opposition leaders and critics, undermining democratic processes. Prisons are full of detainees from certain ethnic groups.
6. Militia and Armed Group Violence: Armed groups and militias contributing to ongoing instability and violence in various regions. Mass detention for ransom, rape, killing and inability to commute from one region to another region in the country. College girls have been abducted (typical Oromo culture to get a wife) in numbers and never known their where abouts.
7. Economic Strain: Rising inflation, unemployment, and poverty, exacerbated by conflicts and displacement.
8. Weakening of Federalism: Centralization of power under Abiy, undermining Ethiopia's federal system and causing tensions with regional states. Also, oftentimes, the central power behaved as if controlling the capital only leading to anarchy and chaos in the federated regions.
