I would even go further saying that it was the Neo-colonial powers that laid down the groundwork for Ethiopia's disintegration in 1952, consistent with their policy on keeping the country in perpetual state of war as articulated by the late Henry Kissinger, and a policy which would later become a preoccupation for the Ethiopian elite who believed that expansionist wars would somehow help raise their IQ level and increase their approval rating, when in fact the exact opposite seems to be true. Just look at what the inferior beings/ተረኞች have done to Ethiopia! Pity!
