The Death Of The Fraudulent MoU Has Also Killed Off This:

Post by Somaliman » 20 Dec 2024, 17:58

The death of the fraudulent MoU has also killed off the shallow-minded hallucinations for Assab, despite the fact that Ethiopian media outlets are nowadays entertaining that Assab belongs to Ethiopia.

It's been said that Blinken has put pressure on Abiy to reaffirm that Ethiopia respects Somalia's sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity. Intelligent diplomacy based on respecting international rules and norms is the only way forward for Abiy. If he does not respect his neighbor's sovereignty and territorial integrity, nobody will respect Ethiopia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Press Statement

Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of State

December 12, 2024

The United States welcomes the December 11 Declaration between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia reaffirming each country’s sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity and advancing cooperation on shared interests. We appreciate the leadership of Türkiye in facilitating this Declaration. We look forward to technical negotiations to permit Ethiopia to enjoy reliable, secure, and sustainable access to the sea for mutual economic benefit while respecting Somalia’s territorial integrity.

Ongoing dialogue and engagement are essential for a stable and prosperous future for Ethiopia and Somalia. We encourage Ethiopia and Somalia to intensify their cooperation on mutual security interests, particularly the fight against al-Shabaab, and look forward to continuing our close bilateral cooperation with both nations.

Why should someone care now what Secretary Blinken said to abiy? It is 25 December today.

We are eager to hear about what the next office holder will say in January about Somaliland and zoomalia

Just be patient. We will hear you more then

Although Trump is easily influenced and is unpredictable, it would be a tough decision for anyone who would like to recognise Somaliland, because they wouldn't know which Somaliland to recognise, as there are currently three Somalilands.

He'll bring absolutely nothing to Africa, which is his last worry, anyway. He's already planning to cut billions in foreign aid, and slashing humanitarian aid is on the wish list of the new clown in the house - Elon Musk.

Turkey's leader Erdogan became the Isayas Afewerki of Eurasia when he started overthrowing rival regimes without firing a single bullet. He has grown into a political giant ever since he ousted Bashar Al-Assad of Syria, and world leaders are now cozying up to him and giving him the respect he commands by bending over backwards to accommodate his interests.

US Secretary of State Blinken was quick to acknowledge Turkey's growing influence in the Horn of Africa, especially in Somalia where Turkish companies run Somalia's airport and sea port, that he ordered Abiy Ahmed to stop meddling in Somalia's internal affairs which Turkey views as a threat to its strategic and economic interest in the region. The last thing that we want to see is Turkish troops in Somalia. Blinken made the right call.
