WILL THE US RECOGNIZE SOMALILAND?

Post by Horus » 18 Dec 2024, 13:39

If we go by traditional patterns of US policy in Africa, it is unlikely that US moves to recognize Somaliland at the risk of Africa-wide negative consequences. If we go by Trump's unpredictable behavioral patterns, it is possible US may recognize Somaliland for various geopolitical reasons. Trump has little regard for African Union norms.

African skies did not fall when US aided and abated the independences of South Sudan and Eritrea from Sudan and Ethiopia, respectively. You should rather ask, "What would US benefit in recognizing the existing independence of Somaliland"?

For the last 3000 years, US foreign policy has always been guided by Ethiopia's national interest. When Ethiopia coughs Americans catch cold.

US benefits are many- keep China, Russia, Turkey, even French, EU out of the region; control the sea lanes of Indian ocean and Red sea, keep an eye on terrorism, and most important dig out oil and natural gas. But I don't believe Somali coasts are fit for hotel and tourism industry. The Muslim culture there will not allow Asia type entertainment industry. So Trump will not build his hotel resort empire there.

But if US recognizes Somaliland, it will lose Somalia for good. Turkey (and may be China) will be in Somalia big time. The million dollar question is are US and Turkey working together or are they competing against each other in Somalia? Nobody is talking about question.

The French president will be in Addis soon. We will find out why? The Turkish president will be in Addis soon. We will find out why. These are all connected. These events are taking place at the same time Trump is moving into the white house.

In February African Union hold regular meeting in Addis.

These are all connected events.

False, there are no geopolitical reasons for the US in order to recognise the breakaway region in question. China has a military base in Djibouti and it's already more influential across Africa compared to the US. And Russia, due to economic obstacles, is out of the game for now and many years to come.

The only reason for him to recognise it is that the few lobbyists that are pushing this are all from the Republican Party or part of Republican circles, some of them being friends with him. They're all mercenaries who are on the payroll of Somaliland to pay their mortgages, as most of them can't even locate Somaliland on the map of Somalia and don't give a fuc'k about Somaliland or Africa in general.

As he's unpredictable and emotional, he can easily be influenced, but we've to remember that it's not a sitting president that runs the American foreign policy.

Instead of blabbering on about Somaliland's recognition, you should better worry about your Gurage men who are being sodomised by Galla primitives.

Old Guagie Horsee,

Trump is just the head of the executive branch. American politics does not work that way. Tramp is TV personality. Congress, Judicial branch, his cabinet all have inputs in the decisions he makes in his foreign policies. He is a good Actor. He will fill you up with foolish ideas. BTW, to him Ethiopia is just a country of ni.ggars. His attention as always has been Europe and Asia, specially Russia. I worry about white supermacy groups who flourished during his reign. I am sure you know his standing on the so called Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Last time he scolded the Egyptians for not destroying the damn dam during construction.

Somaliland politics and culture, a tradition of democracy much advanced than other Commonwealth post-colonial nations like Nigeria and Ghana, with no social base fir alshabab type advocates of Islam-based government, already aligns with the values of the US and tge US has little or none to do fit Somaliland into the US mold.

Also, US is not hostile to China, Turkey, French, Britain, France or any of its alies to do business in regions where it controls or not as long they work with its approval. Fir example, China investment in Afghanistan.

Trupmp towers in Turkey, officially an Islamic republic and led by political party of the Muslim Brotherhood. Abu Dhabi hotels in skyhigh scrappers, alcohols allowed to foreig Christians in the tourist hotels is in line with Sharia Law. Somaliland does not practice Sharia Law. It's a deomcracy of the British Commonwealth.

There must a geological extension of oilrich Saudi Arabia, Iran and Yemen on the vast Somali and Djibuti coasts.

All politics and geopolitics are about power, money and influence. Most of the time world powers have contradictory interests; only sometimes their interests align.

Who doesn't know this, as even your chicken-brain seems to know it?

Write coherent arguments, rather than dropping a jumble of random words and phrases and polluting the forum with crappy videos.

If you had a drop of intelligence, you would have known that the US was the first country that had clearly declared that the independence, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia should be respected and that it did not recognise the fraudulent MoU. The US will not recognise a breakaway region of Somalia, as this would contradict what it has been preaching to others.

In addition, if you really treat this forum exclusively as Ethiopian and not a borderless internet space, why are you not discussing the daily atrocities that Galla primitive animals are inflicting upon your own second class Gurage people, raping your women and sodomising your men, rather than blabbering on about Somalia and/or Eritrea?

You are showing delight in crimes committed agai st innocent Gurages because you disagree with Horus. Shame on you. It won't come as news if one day you would commit such savagery on innocent Gurages. You're a nut case.
You will never stop Horus from speaking up his mind. This will drive you more and more into losing your nental sanity and to engage in unspeakable, horrible wishes in order to silence him. At the same time you could avoid painting yourself an evil incrnate and speak in palatable, healthy language.
Pure devil!

Maybe maybe not trump is unpredictable he recognised the golan heights as part of Israel . The issue you have to put in here is. What is practical the USA invested billions of dollars in the reconstruction of Somalia . If they were to recognise Somaliland all that money would be for nothing . Still some would say they will still continu support Somalia separately from Somaliland. The problem is there is no geopolitical interest that would convince the USA to do this unless Israel has interest on the golf of Aden . And that is yet to be seen USA foreign policy is run by the deep
State there is no vital Chinese threat at the moment so I don’t see why the USA would recognise Somaliland this bill will most
Likely not fly . I could be wrong though time will
Tell but let’s
Say even if USA or any other country recognises Somaliland independence its
Stil bad for
Your dead mou because there would be no reason for
Somalilanders
To entertain to lease a sea coat to you they doing it for recognition they won’t need you . So you better hope they Are not recognised because then and only then you can use the so
Called dead mou as a sort threat against Somalia indeed
