A possibility of a signal of orbital forcing in earthquakes

Post by Messele Zewdie Ejeta » 23 Sep 2024, 13:29

Gravity is one of the most fascinating forces of nature. When we watch news about the manmade Space Station, we are reminded that planet Earth is the biggest known natural spaceship.

When we see energetic human beings on Earth lack energy and become freely floating human beings aboard the Space Station, we sense what the force of nature called gravity really means.

When we remember that the force of gravity keeps Earth in a continuous state of orbital motion, it makes you curious about a possibility of orbital forcing in earthquakes.

Out of this curiosity, I prepared the following proceeding paper several years ago:

Observed Association between Historical Major Earthquakes and Lunisolar Alignments

This preliminary research is part of an effort to attribute climate change to natural variability and manmade elevated greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The following link is for the main peer reviewed paper out of this effort:

Validation of predicted meteorological drought in California using analogous orbital geometries

I think that interested researchers would find it helpful to be curious about it as well. It may be a rewarding new frontier of research.
