Only 1.5 million students have enrolled in the Amhara region out of the 7 million expected to enroll in the 2017 academic year. Because of FANO’s/PP clashes, 5.5 million students will be out of school for 2017. This number has increased from the academic year 2016 by almost 3 million. Last academic year, 2.6 million students were out of school.
Amhara students will now be learning how to farm for consecutive years.
