I would say "Peace" on earth would reign in! Unfortunately, our rulers have nothing to show except to keep the African people in war-induced disasters. The question should be asked is "What is wrong with us, Ethiopians, who act and behave like bullies towards our neighbors? It is shameful to brag how we were never defeated in any war when the fact remains that we were saved by the USSR and its allies when Somalia was knocking at our doorsteps. Empty bravado and meaningless bragging have not helped us and more than likely, it won't help us now or in the future if our country has any future that is.

While the context of your message is admirable, your claim that ' we were saved by the USSR and its allies when Somalia was knocking at our doorstep' mis attributes the victory that the Ethiopian people earned through their sacrifices to the USSR and its allies. This is far from the truth. Yes, Ethiopia shifted its alliance from the U.S. to the USSR, and when the U.S. cut off Ethiopia and stopped supplying weapons, Ethiopia had to retrain its army with new weapons while fighting both the EPLF/ELF in the north and a Soviet-armed and trained Somalia in the south, all during a full-blown civil war in the middle. The Russians and Cubans only came in until the Ethiopian forces were retrained with the new weapons. While I agree with you that we want to have a mutually respectful and beneficial relationship with our neighbors, and that the policy being followed by Abiy is self-defeating, trivializing the sacrifices made by Ethiopians to appease our neighbors by misrepresenting historical facts is also self-defeating.
