I think you’re confusing him with someone else. he’s famous Eritrean Journalist, not Ethiopian. He used to write for one of the dozens of non state Newspapers that got banned in 2001 for giving platform to the EPLF faction that challenged President Isayas tyrannical tendencies at the time.

We still don’t have non state media and this is 2024. But he’s doing it from diaspora.
