Horus - One thing I don’t understand is the fact that Gurages are economically powerful. There are high level & prominent people throughout the capital with strong connections and influences and, unlike other folks (like Amharas for example), they are well connected to the Gurage people on the ground. Why don’t they voice their people’s grievances to the politicians or practice some sort of boycotting?

Thanks ቪዲዮውን መልሰህ ስላገኘህው ። እነዚህ በጉቦ የሰከሩ ደደብ የደቡብ ጸረ ጉራጌ አድር ባዮች በመሸነፋቸው ተናደ ነው ይህን ሁሉ አላስፈላጊ ድራማ የሚያአዩን ! እነዚህ ደደቦች ከወያኔ ትግሬና ዛሬ ደሞ ባዲስ ስልጣን ከሰከሩት ኦሮሙማ ባለግዜዎች የለመዱት ነገር አለ ። አንድ ብርሃን እንኳ በደምብ በሌለው አዳራ ውስጥ ተከማችተው ይህ ሕዝብ ከዚህ የመደብ፣ ይህ ጎሳ ከዚያ ይደመር እያሉ የሚጨማለቁት አመል አላቸው ። በዚህ መልክ መላ ደቡብን እንደ ካርታ ይጫወቱበታል!!! ተመልከት ጠንካራ ሕዝብ እንደ ጋሞና ወላይታ ያሉትን እንዴት ጸጥ እንዳሰኝዏቸው? ያን ያደረጉት የዞን ምክር ቤቶችን በገንዘብና በማሸማቀቅ !!!

ይህ በጉራጌ አይሰራም! እነዚህ ደደቦች የማያውቁት ነገር ጉራጌ ምን ያክል እልህኛና ማራራ ሕዝብ እንደ ሆነ ነው ! እነሱ የሚያውቁት ሰላማዊነቱና ከሰው መግባባቱ ብቻ ነው! ጉራጌ እጅግ ግትር ክብሩን የማትነካው ሕዝብ ነው ። የጉራጌ ምክር ቤትን ከብልጽግና ማባረር ማለት ብልጽግና በጉራጌ የለም ማለት ነው ። አቢይ አህመድ ጉራጌን በወታደራዊ አገዛዝ መያዝ ይችላል ። ነገር ግን ያ የሆነው ብልጽግና ከጉራጌ በመወገዱ ነው !!!

ሃቁ ይህ ነው! ሺ አመት ጦር በጉራጌ ማስፈር ይችላል! የሚመጣ ለውጥ የለም! ጉራጌ የማንም ክላስተር አካል ጭፍልቅ አይደለም ! በቃ ይህን አላማውን ከወዲሁ ያሳካ ሕዝብ ነው ። እያንዳንዱ የጉራጌ እናትን ባፈሙዝ አስገድዶ ድምጽ ሰጠች ሊል ይችላል ። ያ ማለት ምንም ማለት አይደለም ! አምባገነን ሲሰለቸው ይለቅሃል !

እመነኝ በዚህ በጉራጌ ጦስ የብልጽግና ሌባ ካድሬዎች ትልቅ ሃፍረት ይወርዳሉ !

Answer to your question is low or non-existent nationalism. The emphasis is more loyalty to the Ethiopian gov in a weird and uneducated view of "They know what's best for us".
Abiy Gov organized the Weredas in Sodo and Mesqan, gave a flipping finger to 7bet Gurage and voted down the Gurage representatives majority vote of 52/40 for a Gurage Region, which is illegal. According to the constitution weredas cannot vote down decisions reached by a zone assembly.
Also the then President of SNNPR, himself an Amara born and raised in Gurage, came to the US and solicited the Gurage diaspora support for inclusion of Gurage in Central Ethiopia Region and forgo the demand for Gurage of its own region. they assured him of the ir support and went back to Ethiopia. I will find this Youtube video and post it here if necessary.
