There is no doubt Issaias Afeworki knows the bad and opportunist intention of the Arab Egypt. After all, it was Issaias Afeworki's ancestors who crushed and buried the invading Muslim Arab Egyptians in Gundet and Gurae in the late 1800s.

Tigrayan brother Axumezana aka mesob aka the extremist crusader despite the fact that Islam is the least of the millions of problems of tigray,
President Isayas doesn't want Eritrea to be used as a proxy, but he may very well accept Egyptian armaments to further strengthen the Eritrean forces. But I doubt he'd go as far as committing troops to an anti Ethiopian war waged by Egypt and their somali "allies," if it happens.
Also, long term, it'd be foolish because Ethiopia would never forget it and eventually would want to avenge itself, even if it took decades to be able to and egypt would not help.
