As to the MoU signed between Ethiopia and Somaliland, you should first examine international rights of Somaliland and Ethiopia. No one can infringe on the sovereign rights of others.

Somaliland, has precedents, of offering foreign investors unlimited time and limited time land leases. For example, the DP World of UAE, has an indefinite lease of a 15km land reaching up to Woojale town from Berbera. Somalia did not claim its sovereignty was violated by this deal. I am sure there are many other cases like this or with time-limited land leases to foreign state or private investors. Somalia has no history of objecting to these land leases by Somaliland.

This MoU has a time limit of 50 years for Ethiopia to build a seaport over a seacoast stretch of land of 19km. It's not something new Somaliland done. It's new to Somalia that Somaliland has done this the first time. How is this a temporary land lease to Ethiopia violates Somalia's sovereignty. On the other hand, Somalia wants to give Ethiopia a seaport in Puntland where it has authority. This is just Somalia taking business away from Somaliland. Isn't it?
