For months, Eritreas across the globe have been demanding an answer from their government on why Ethiopian airlines is allowed to continue raking up a huge profit from its citizens while giving a mediocre services, overcharging Eritreans for its flights to and from Asmara, theft of their belongings, purposely delaying departure/arrivals and etc. Finally, the government seemed had enough of this low class airline’s bad behavior and cut it off from its airspace. September 30 can’t come soon enough.
According to its own report, the Ethiopian airlines said recently, the Asmara-Addis route is the most profitable route in its company history. I bet it was.
Eg.
Asmara to Addis round trip in July was averaged $1,100 (one hour flight)
Toronto-Addis round trip averages $1,100 (17 plus hours flight).
This is nothing less than robbery, it’s like stealing your luggage with its full content.

If Eritrean walks to the Ethiopian airlines office in Asmara and demands to pay what’s listed on its App and in Birr, the airlines refuses to accept it. They would pull a whole different screen that has different price (much higher) and demands payment in US dollar as well.
